About Us
The Asiatic Society for Social Science Research (also known as ASSSR) is an autonomous research body, originally constituted as a Body of Individuals on September 2, 2019. Following a subsequent revision to its Memorandum of Association, it has now been registered and established under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, with its operational area covering all of India.
The Society continues to function with the same aims, objectives, and registration, retaining its existing NITI Aayog Unique ID Number: DL/2021/0287154.
Our Objectives
Its objectives include:
- Promoting and coordinating social science research;
- Serving as a forum through conferences, seminars, and symposiums;
- Preserving historical monuments and archaeological sources;
- Establishing physical or virtual archives, museums, and a publication division;
- Honoring social scientists and supporting original publications;
- Creating inclusive research platforms and promoting accessibility to scholarly works;
- Strengthening research ecosystems through teaching, interdisciplinary study, and special initiatives ranging from short-term to long-term courses, in line with Government norms.
Our Commitment
The Society is committed to excellence in education across disciplines, including science, technology, humanities, arts, and sports, functioning as a Centre of Excellence for research and innovative interventions.
All income and properties are used solely for its stated objectives, with no profits distributed to any members.
